In this workshop, you will make a rope bowl or coasters using a sewing machine. You will learn how to make bias strips to cover the rope with fabric or you may choose to leave them bare with different colored stitching for a minimalist look!

Prerequisite: Intro to Sewing I or comfortable threading a machine and winding a bobbin on your own.

Bring with you to the class:
- Sewing machine with zig-zag option, unless you're renting one of our domestics
- Universal presser foot or one that allows the needle to move side to side
- Empty bobbins for each thread color (size class 15 for our rentals)
- Size 100/16 sewing machine needle
- Dritz Premium Clothesline
- Seam ripper
- Thread snips
- Spool(s) of all purpose polyester thread or variegated thread
- Embroidery floss (for bare coasters only)
- Long hand sewing needle (for bare coasters only)
- 1 yd of fabric, if covering rope (makes a bowl approximately 7” diameter w/ a 1” rim)
- Rotary cutter (for fabric covered bowls)
- Quilting ruler (for fabric covered bowls)
- Awl (optional)
- Wonder clips (optional)
